# Best Laptops for Graphic Design & Video Editing in Kenya: 2026 Buying Guide
For graphic designers, video editors, and animators in Kenya, having the right tools is paramount. The demands of creative software require powerful hardware that can handle complex tasks, render high-resolution graphics, and process large video files without breaking a sweat. In 2026, technology offers more options than ever, balancing raw power with portability and affordability.
At Mars Computers, located conveniently in Mombasa CBD (Moi Avenue and Mwembe Tayari), we understand these needs. We've curated a selection of laptops perfect for creative professionals, ensuring you get transparent pricing, official warranties, and fast nationwide delivery across Kenya.
What to Look for in a Creative Laptop in 2026
When investing in a laptop for graphic design or video editing, consider these critical specifications:
*
Processor (CPU): A powerful multi-core processor (Intel Core i7/i9, AMD Ryzen 7/9, or Apple M-series) is essential for rendering, multitasking, and running demanding applications like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
*
RAM (Memory): Aim for a minimum of 16GB RAM for serious creative work. 32GB or more is ideal for heavy video editing, 3D rendering, or running multiple demanding applications simultaneously.
*
Storage (SSD): Solid State Drives (SSDs) are non-negotiable. They offer significantly faster boot times, application loading, and file transfers compared to traditional HDDs. A 256GB SSD is a minimum, but 512GB or 1TB+ is recommended for storing large project files.
*
Graphics Card (GPU): While integrated graphics can handle light tasks, a dedicated GPU (NVIDIA GeForce, AMD Radeon, or Apple's integrated M-series GPU) dramatically speeds up video rendering, 3D modelling, and complex visual effects. The more VRAM, the better.
*
Display Quality: A high-resolution (Full HD or 4K), color-accurate display is crucial for visual work. Look for features like sRGB/DCI-P3 coverage, brightness, and anti-glare coatings.
*
Ports: Ample USB-C (Thunderbolt), USB-A, HDMI, and an SD card reader are vital for connecting external monitors, hard drives, cameras, and other peripherals.
